Loire Valley, Muscadet
Citrus Fruits, Medium Bodied, Rich
Melon de Bourgogne
The winery, created in 1960, produces high quality Muscadet Sevre et Maine. The wines have always been produced on the finest schist terroirs in the appellation, using the best vinification techniques, including harvesting by hand, ageing on lees and letting the wine age in the bottle. We rest on the quality of our terroir to create various Cuvees.
Chereau Carre is also a family story. Today, two generations work closely together to run the four wine producing estates.
Produced from 100-year-old vines by Bernard Carre with grapes all meticulously picked by hand and aged with their 'lees' to give richness and body. Most of this very small production goes to France's top restaurants. Pale yellow in colour with a rich and concentrated nose. Firm, ripe, mature fruit—almost vigorous. Rich and refreshing with complex flavours. A very serious Muscadet that will go with anything, although langoustines and oysters immediately spring to mind.
