Argentina | Mendoza | Red Fruits, Medium Bodied | Malbec |
Valentin Bianchi was born in Italy in 1887. When he was 23, he left the small town of Fasano and travelled to Argentina, more precisely to San Rafael, Mendoza. Don Valentin, an educated man, a teacher by profession and a person with a solid entrepreneurial spirit, began his life project in Mendoza. In 1928, he fulfilled one of his greatest dreams:to have his own vineyard and winery which he called El Chiche, "the small winery of great wines". Don Valentín's tireless vocation was forging a family winery whose name would become a true heritage of Argentina:Bodegas Bianchi. The combination of vineyards in San Rafael, Uco Valley and Agrelo, is chosen for the elaboration of this Malbec, resulting excellent complexity in both aromas and flavour. San Rafael, with a great presence of rocks in its soils, delicate tannins and poor in organic matter provide minerality and finesse. Valle de Uco, located around 1100-1200 meters above sea level, provides grapes of great intensity in colour and distinctive aromatic expression. Agrelo shows a soil with sand, clay, silt, of alluvial origin and large oval stones in depth that provide elegance and outstanding acidity. During its production, 30% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 8 months.
