Born in Alsace, Mr Louis Eschenauer had moved to Bordeaux in 1821 and began trading in wine. The company entered a partnership with Mr Alexandre Wachter and became Eschenauer & Compagnie. Under the dynamic guidance of Frédéric Eschenauer (Louis' son), it earned its place as one of the most important Bordeaux wine merchants, a place it still occupies today.
Louis Eschenauer joined the group “Les Grands Chais de France” in 2007, rising to new international challenges.
Wines bearing the signature of Louis Eschenauer still, today, remain faithful to the principles that made the company’s reputation:a quest for the highest quality and respect for tradition. Sold in over 90 countries, Louis Eschenauer is proud to offer a complete range of Bordeaux and Pays d’Oc wines that are accessible to all, of great quality and certain to satisfy an increasingly international and demanding clientèle.
100% Merlot. Once perfectly ripe, the grapes are picked, destemmed and crushed. Fermentation over 6 to 12 days at low temperature to preserve the rich aromas. An extremely deep garnet red. An expressive aroma of red berry notes, like cherry and raspberry, and also blackcurrant. With good length on the palate, this wine reveals soft and silky tannins.
